Building with Porter Davis - Words of Wisdom
Before we started building we read through other blogs and reviews of Porter Davis build and had an understanding of things to watch out for.
If i had sum up some advice in a few lines a large Builder like Porter Davis has excellent processes, however they have high staff turnover. You will find that all staff may not be helpful or knowledgeable or blatantly lie to you and tell you the wrong information. Always ask Questions multiple times to different staff. If a particular staff member is not being helpful go to some one else. Always be across every detail of your quote and the drawing and manage the timelines closely as Porter Davis tends to Rush you from step to step unnecessarily. Do not be scared to push back.
I will update this Article with more detailed things to watch out for during each step over the course of the build.....

December 2017 - Sales Contract Signed - House Design and Facade Selected
After having looked at building a custom floor plan we decided on Building the Waldorf Grange 50 with Porter Davis with some changes to the floor plan such as:
- covering up the Void at the back to create a rumpus room upstairs
- adding an extra guest bed room downstairs behind the Theatre.
- Adding a wine Cellar/Storage room adjacent to the kitchen.
